Pomodoro wanted a brand that felt light, friendly, and full of flavour. My senior designer, Nrupan Kurup, crafted the logo and typography — and from there, I took the reins to expand the system. The client wanted everything neatly wrapped up in a brand document, plus a few collaterals to kickstart their food delivery — so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. For the pizza box, the brief was clear: more brand recognition. So the logo became the artwork. Placing it slightly off-centre gave it a fun, playful personality — confident without trying too hard. The checkered sides were a nod to classic retro pizzerias, giving the boxes that nostalgic “fresh out of the oven” feel. The stickers carried the same energy — a mix of the monogram and wordmark, designed to feel like small bursts of personality sealing every order. Even the business cards got the Pomodoro treatment: big, bold CIAO up front in Acarau Display, and the Chef Pomo monogram embossed in gloss on the back. The contrast between the matte paper and the shiny logo added a tactile charm — simple, but satisfying.

The full brand guidelines tied everything together. Working closely with Nrupan, we built a system that balanced playfulness with precision — a design that felt warm, inviting, and distinctly Italian without leaning into cliché. One take, no revisions. Proof that when the ingredients are right, you don’t need to overcook it.
